Tips For Those Who Are Pregnant Or Considering

With pregnancy, comes stress. You are naturally concerned about having a healthy child and a pregnancy with no complications. Education is needed to have a problem-free pregnancy that will create a healthy baby. The following piece has wonderful pregnancy advice.

Be sure to stay active while pregnant. Use low-impact exercises – walking and swimming – that keep you moving without putting too much stress on your body. This will help prevent excess pregnancy weight gain, improve the quality of your sleep, and increase circulation to your lower limbs, all of which can be a challenge when pregnant.

Make sure you are educated about pregnancy. There are so many books and websites that you can read that will help you out. If you know what is supposed to be going on, it will calm your nerves, and you will also be able to tell if something is wrong.

Engage in Kegel exercises each day. This activity can improve your pelvic muscles, which affect your bladder, bowels and uterus. Kegels will help with your delivery, and they can be done just about anywhere, including in the car or at work. To do them correctly, you should squeeze like you want to stop yourself from using the bathroom. Hold this position for three seconds and then relax for three. Do this in sets of ten.

If you are a cat owner, find a volunteer to take over changing the cat litter. Soiled cat litter can contain chemicals that are known to harm fetuses. Get someone else to take care of the litter box until after the baby is born. Your spouse should be happy to take over this chore for the baby’s sake. If you aren’t married, don’t be afraid to ask a friend or family member to clean the litter box for you during your pregnancy.

Pack your bags early. Don’t wait until you are 37 weeks or later to finally pack your bag for the hospital. Obviously you want your baby to reach full gestation, but you never know when something is going to happen. Having your bag packed will give you peace of mind in case there is an unexpected event.

Add 300-500 calories a day to your diet while you are pregnant. Don’t forget you are eating for two so you definitely need to increase your caloric intake. Make sure however that you are adding healthy calories into your diet. Adding 500 calories of junk food isn’t going to do anything to help you and the baby.

Be careful about pressures on your body when you sleep during pregnancy. Provide your body with the necessary support. You can buy a pillow that is made for your pregnant body in many different stores. A regular pillow can be used for support if you don’t have a pregnancy pillow. Sleeping with a soft pillow between your knees and another under your stomach is usually the most preferred way to sleep while pregnant.

It’s very important for you to know how to care for both your baby and yourself when pregnant. You want a healthy pregnancy, so use the advice you’ve read in this article.
